The tool uses JSON parsing to validate syntax and formats the resulting data. It never evaluates pasted JavaScript. Keep a copy of your original before replacing a configuration.
Limits and compatibility
Input is limited to 100,000 characters. Comments, trailing commas, JSON5 and binary NBT are not supported. Formatting can normalise numbers, key ordering and duplicate keys; do not use it as a lossless editor for signed or precision-sensitive data.
